ECOS members meet once a year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to take the main political decisions (e.g : work programme and budget). Between AGMs, ECOS is managed by an Executive Committee, the members of which are appointed each year by the AGM. Both AGM and Executive Committee are chaired by the ECOS chairperson. The Secretary General is responsible for the daily management of ECOS.
In order to take part actively in technical meetings and consultations, ECOS establishes Task Forces and Expert pools for each topic covered in its work program. These Task Forces and Expert pools include individuals appointed by ECOS. These experts represent ECOS in the standardisation committees and technical meetings where standards, eco-performance requirements or labelling schemes are discussed. A coordinating expert is usually responsible for overseeing the work of the Task Force, validating positions and reports prepared by experts and ensuring particular coordination with the political and lobbying actions undertaken by ECOS Members.
